Summer Savory
Summer Savory is culinary herb, native to the Mediterranean.  It's warm and peppery flavor is often used in
bean or meat dishes, and can be an intriguing addition to sauces and vinegar dressings.  It is also used
medicinally.  Summer Savory is an annual with dark green, needle-like leaves.  The plant grows to a height of
around 18 inches and can be 30 inches wide.  Harvest as needed through the season, or cut the entire plant and
dry for later use.  If allowed to bloom, lilac-purple flowers will appear in the Summer. Sow indoors, or direct
sow after the last frost- covering seeds only very lightly with soil as they need light to germinate.
