Brassica oleracea (Botrytis Group) ‘Violetta di Sicilia’—or ‘Purple of Sicily’—produces vibrant violet heads that turn green when cooked, revealing a sweet, nutty flavor without the bitterness often found in white cauliflower. Each head is dense and compact, 6–8 inches across, framed by lush blue-green leaves that protect it from the sun and cold alike.
The plants grow 18–24 inches tall, vigorous and tolerant of both cool and warm conditions, making them ideal for fall harvests or mild winter climates. The tender curds hold beautifully when roasted, steamed, or mashed, turning any dish into a feast for the eyes.
