The early, frilled green of northern gardens. ‘Grand Rapids’ leaf lettuce produces large, loose heads of crinkled, bright green leaves that stay tender and sweet long after harvest. The flavor is mild, and the texture crisp yet delicate.
Fast to mature—ready in about 45 days—and exceptionally tolerant of cool temperatures. Excellent for greenhouse or field production.
Introduced in the late 1800s, ‘Grand Rapids’ became the benchmark for greenhouse lettuce. A proven heirloom known for speed, sweetness, and steady yields.
