Corn Seeds - Flour - Hopi Blue Corn
Native heirloom corn with deep blue kernels prized for its rich, nutty taste and traditional uses in cornmeal and blue tortillas.
Description
The sacred blue flour corn of the Southwest. ‘Hopi Blue’ produces 8–10 inch ears of deep indigo kernels used for traditional blue cornmeal, tortillas, and ceremonial dishes. The flavor is rich, earthy, and slightly sweet, with exceptional nutritional value and a higher protein content than most corn.
Plants reach 8–10 feet tall and mature in about 100–110 days, performing best in warm, dry conditions. Dried ears retain their vivid blue color, turning lavender when ground.
A heritage variety grown for centuries by the Hopi people, this corn carries both history and spirit in every kernel—a living link to the desert and the enduring strength of traditional agriculture.
